Some Enchanted Evening is a celebration of some of the best songs of the Twentieth Century written by the greatest team of songwriters to ever collaborate, Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. Together they penned such shows as The Sound of Music, The King and I, Oklahoma!, Carousel, South Pacific, and State Fair. More so than any composer and lyricist who have written for the stage, the songs of Rodgers & Hammerstein have become an integral part of our everyday lives. Some Enchanted Evening showcases many of these favorites in a sparkling song and dance musical tribute.
Collectively, the Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals earned 35 Tony Awards, 15 Academy Awards, two Pulitzer Prizes, two Grammy Awards and two Emmy Awards. In 1998, Rodgers and Hammerstein were cited by Time Magazine and CBS News as among the 20 most influential artists of the 20th century and in 1999 they were jointly commemorated on a U.S. postage stamp.
Some Enchanted Evening features a talented cast of three women and two men, dressed to the nines in evening gowns and tuxes in a glitzy parade of genuine hits that spotlight many of the legendary moments of the world’s best-loved musicals by the undisputed kings of Broadway. The show is set in an enchanted garden with the players coming and going through each others’ lives in song and dance. Some Enchanted Evening will truly be an evening of elegance and class that your audiences will cherish for years to come.
