The Deepest Breath, based on the book by Meg Grehan, written and directed by Cheyenne Mesura, is a coming of age story that centers on Stevie, a young girl who is reckoning with feelings about her friend Chloe. The play astutely grapples with mental health issues that highlights the anxiety a young person can experience when discovering their identity. Performed by 4 performers, the play is part of THS’ larger initiative to center programming specifically for LGBTQIA+ youth, while supporting a new LGBTQIA+ playwright, Cheyenne Mesura. The Deepest Breath is a deeply moving story that will be a place for young people to see themselves reflected in a positive light.
